	Na haar opleiding aan de Filmacademie, begon Patriez van der Wens (1974) onder de naam PTRZ aan verschillende visuele werken. Ze uit zich via fotografie, video, film en een combinatie tussen deze media. Haar werk daagt mensen uit na te denken over sociaal gedrag, codes en conventies, met een speciale interesse voor beweging en lichaamstaal die ‘gender-orientated’ is. Ze heeft oog voor detail, subtiele schoonheid, onopgemerkte tekortkomingen en houdt van verdriet dat schuil gaat achter een laag make-up. She expresses herself in photography, video, film and combinations of all this. She creates eye candy that lifts music into another dimension. She also has a need for making people think of social behavior, codes, conventions or stirring and shaking them up. PTRZ has a special interest for body movement and body-language in general, especially when it is about the role of femininity, male and female interaction (and male-male, female-female). PTRZ’ specific interest is the female energy. "Often I feel like dragging things out of perspective, make them almost surreal, so you get drawn into another world with total different standards and rules, so you get forced to dive into yourself, I like to create a little confusion..." Besides all this PTRZ is a sucker for details, subtle beauty and ugliness and she loves the sadness that can be hidden behind make up.
